What should you protect cable lines and optical fibers from?

When laying cable lines or blowing fibers, the most important is protection against excessive friction, which can lead to damage. Therefore, preparations such as cable slip or fiber fluid are used. Thanks to them, friction is reduced to a minimum. However, damage is also possible during operation, which is why you also need to take care of good technical condition of cable lines and optical fibers.

1. Protection against mechanical damage

One of the main threats to cable lines and optical fibers are mechanical damage caused by e.g. excavations, construction works, etc. To prevent such damage, it is necessary to properly mark and protect cable routes as well as regular inspections to detect any threats.
