Nowadays, when the growing demand for electricity is an indispensable element of technological progress, issues related to electrical infrastructure security become a priority. One of the most important aspects in this context is the fire protection of the cable lines, which constitute the supply spine in many key sectors, from industry to residential buildings. Effective fire protection not only minimizes the risk of fires, but also limits their potential effects, protecting both human life and valuable property.

Laying cables in the ground and fire protection

Laying cables in the ground and fire protection is an issue that plays a key role in ensuring safe and reliable electrical infrastructure. Cables laid in places exposed to mechanical damage, such as roads or industrial areas. Already when laying them, security measures are used, such as increasing slip cable fluid. In addition, they are protected with cable covers made of various materials, including stoneware sewage pipes, PVC, steel and concrete blocks. These covers protect the cables against external influences, and also limit the risk of fire by minimizing the possibilities of mechanical damage that could lead to short circuits and sparking.

In cases where the cable installation is longer than 60 meters or contains branching and direction changes, cable wells are used. Reinforced concrete wells with a minimum dimensions of 800x800 mm are most often chosen, equipped with a drainage system, a closed hatch and a vent. Such solutions provide easy access to cables for maintenance and allow effective gas discharge that can be collected in a well, which is important from the point of view of fire protection.

In addition, the diameter of the cable cover opening should be at least 1.5 times larger than the diameter of the cable, but not less than 50 mm, which ensures adequate ventilation and minimizes the risk of overheating. In situations where the cables are carried out between separate fire separation zones, it is necessary to use fire culverts or special insulating materials. After the cables are introduced into the covers, both ends must be tightly closed to prevent the penetration of fire and smoke in the event of a fire. Such methods and safety agents are crucial for ensuring fire safety in cable installations laid in the ground.

Laying cables in tunnels and fire protection

Laying cables in tunnels and fire protection is a key aspect to ensure the safety of electrical infrastructure, especially in large industrial and urban facilities. Cable tunnels, enabling service to move, require advanced fire protection measures. This allows easy maintenance of the cable line, where with overhead lines it is necessary to equip such as ladders to the overhead line.

Tunnels should be built of non -flammable materials and equipped with water drainage and ventilation systems to minimize the risk of fire. Fire fencing in the form of ceramic walls or gypsum boards with fireproof insulation materials is used every 100 meters long tunnel, and in fire zones not exceeding 50 meters, a post-detachment hole without a door is enough.

Laying cables in tunnels must be implemented with adequate distances between cables, other pipelines, walls and bottom, which allows for effective space management and ensures safety. It is particularly important to separate cables according to the rated voltage groups and install them on separated brackets, which prevents potential short circuits and sparking. When laying the cable line, it is used fiberglass, which makes it easier to drag the cable. The exception are sets of single -core cables forming a multi -phase beam as well as signaling and energy cables connected to one device that can contact.

Cable installations in tunnels must also take into account the appropriate cable mounting, especially on slopes, where the distances between the handles are from 40 to 150 cm depending on the laying angle and the type of cable. Armor -free cables should be attached with handles with flexible inserts that prevent damage to insulation coatings. All these means and principles are aimed at ensuring maximum fire safety, minimizing the risk of fire and protecting both infrastructure and people.

Fire protection in buildings

Fire protection in buildings, in the context of laying cables, is an extremely important element ensuring the safety of users and the integrity of the building structure itself. The cables are laid directly on the walls or ceilings, as well as on supporting structures embedded in building structural elements and in cable channels. The key aspect is proper protection of cable cords, especially when the walls and ceilings passes. Pipes or special cable culverts should be concreted or inserted into the hole, and their ends sealed with non -flammable material at a length of 8 cm for ceilings and 10 cm for walls.

Additional protections are necessary in special cases, such as insulation from corrosive vapors in the battery rooms or fire protection at the transitions between separate fire zones. In rooms at risk of fire or explosion, each cable, including a single -core, should be run by separate culverts. Cable intersections must be made in a way that ensures minimal distances: 5 cm for cables for voltage up to 1 kV and 15 cm for voltage cables above 1 kV. The minimum distances from the pipelines, according to the standard, range from 20 to 150 cm, and in the absence of their behavior, the cables must be carried out in protective pipes. These agents and procedures provide effective fire protection, minimizing the risk of fire and securing electrical installations in buildings.
