Does Polish energy infrastructure undergo transformation?
Does Polish energy infrastructure undergo transformation?

The energy sector in Poland, with prolonged domination of fossil fuels, undergoes transformation. The share of energy from low -emission and non -emission sources is gradually increasing, which leads to constantly decreasing energy production. Despite this, due to geopolitical conditions, Poland is still in the process of transforming its energy sector. By assuming further economic development similar to the average level in the EU, Poland faces the challenge of increasing electricity consumption.

Polish road to energy neutrality

Climate goals for 2030, set by the European Council in 2014, are a key reference point for environmental protection activities. The implementation of the implementation regulation package, published in 2016, and the legislative process completed in mid -2019, aimed to increase the participation of national initiatives in reaching these goals. As part of these activities, national plans for energy and climate (KPEiK) were introduced, which were an integral part of the European Union strategy. However, the growing negative phenomena of climate change accelerated the pace of action, which led to the EU's assumption by the political achievement of climate neutrality by 2050.

Therefore, in the years until 2030, the "Fit for 55" regulation was developed, supporting the increased purpose of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from 40% to 55% compared to 1990. Despite the ongoing legislative work, in 2021 the European climate law was adopted, which contains the binding purpose of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. However, in the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and disruptions on the global fuel market, the second goal of EU climate policy is also becoming more and more important - rapid reducing the dependence of EU countries on the import of energy raw materials. Therefore, a new repowereu plan has been announced, which proposes even higher goals in terms of improving energy efficiency and energy consumption from renewable sources than the "Fit for 55" package, and contains additional activities supporting Europe's energy independence.

The potential of cable lines in Poland

In the past, Polish energy was completely dominated by overhead lines. Relatively simple equipment is used for their construction, such as:cable clamps. However, more modern solutions are increasingly used. Cable lines in Poland have great potential to improve not only the conditions of power supply, but also in terms of increasing the reliability of electricity supply. The reconstruction of overhead lines on cable lines and the use of advanced network automation technologies are key elements of investment in power infrastructure. These modernizations are particularly important in the face of increasingly frequent weather anomalies, because they contribute to increasing the safety of the health and life of bystanders and the environment. Thanks to this, cable lines become not only reliable, but also more friendly to the environment around us. Laying them is an investment because it requires the use of such equipment as drum standWhetherRollers for unwinding cables, preventing cable damage. The advantages, however, prevail over the minuses.

Changes in the Polish energy sector

Changes in the Polish energy sector reflect global pursuit of sustainable development and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In the field of technological diversification and the expansion of power based on domestic sources, actions are undertaken to increase energy independence by covering the demand for electricity with various, technologically diversified sources. The development of renewable energy sources (renewable energy), such as wind, solar, biomass or water energy, is a key element of Poland's energy strategy. It is planned that by 2040 about 50% of electricity production will come from renewable energy, which requires intensification of activities for the development of these technologies.

In the long run, the focus on improving energy efficiency is aimed at limiting the demand for energy through industry activities and thermomodernization of buildings, which not only contributes to environmental protection, but also ensures the energy of the country. In addition, the development of innovative solutions in the field of energy storage and automation of the power network is aimed at increasing the reliability and resistance of the system to various external factors, including variable weather conditions.

In the context of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and striving to become independent of the import of energy raw materials, Poland makes efforts to diversify supplies and develop alternatives to hydrocarbons. Planned investments in new technologies, such as nuclear energy and infrastructure development enabling the use of alternative fuels, including hydrogen or biogas, are aimed at securing the long -term energy needs of the country.

Negotiations of regulation changes at the European Union level are crucial for the effective implementation of energy transformation, while taking into account the real possibilities and needs of the energy sector. The implementation of comprehensive solutions may result in significant changes in Poland's energy structure by 2050, while striving to achieve climate neutrality and increase the flexibility and security of the energy system.
