Fall Protection System for Open Manholes
A simple and effective system that prevents accidental falls of tools, materials, or people into open manholes.
The system is practical and intuitive to use, consisting of a lightweight yet very durable foldable cross frame with four extendable and adjustable spokes that fit both square and round openings.
Four lower sliding braces are adjustable on the arms to keep the cross in the correct position and prevent movement.
A self-centering and foldable metal grid is then placed on the cross, which prevents falling while allowing air and light to flow through.
It can also be shifted to a position that accommodates passage and the presence of a ladder. In the event of an emergency escape by the operator from the inside, the entire assembly can be quickly removed by pushing.
